2. Expiration of Waivers: The Medicare telehealth waivers, which allow for expanded access to services, will lapse. This means that patients may have to return to in-person visits at designated facilities, negating the convenience that telehealth provides.

3. Impact on Providers: Healthcare providers may face significant disruptions. Without the extension of telehealth funding, many practices could experience cash flow issues, particularly those that rely heavily on Medicare patients. Claims processing and payments from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) would also be suspended during the shutdown.
